Obituary for Alva E. Pepper
Alva E. Pepper, age 70 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home. Born in Washington, DC on July 4, 1947, he was the son of the late Alva Cleveland & Ernestine (Huggins) Pepper. Alva was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Alva was a life member of Gettysburg American Legion Post #202 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He had been employed by the Boeing Corporation in Chantilly, VA for 19 years. Alva is survived by his wife, Brenda L. (Koehler) Pepper, a son, Alva Marc Pepper of Frederick, MD, two step sons; Brian Hartzell of Gettysburg and Derek Hartzell of Biglerville, PA, eleven grandchildren, and two brothers; Perry Pepper of Damascus, MD and Patric Pepper of Washington, DC. Private graveside funeral services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg with full military honors presented by the Adams County Allied Veterans.
