Obituary for Donald L. Kauffman
Donald L. Kauffman, 86, of Gettysburg, PA died Wednesday morning, January 10, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg.
Born September 13, 1931 in South Mountain, PA he was the son of the late Lewis D. and Floy Cecelia (Baltozer) Kauffman. He was the husband of June E. (Guise) Kauffman of Gettysburg.
Mr. Kauffman was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was Chief of Security at South Mountain Restoration Center. He enjoyed going to hunting camp in Cameron County, golfing and bowling.
In addition to his wife Donald is survived by his seven children, Stephanie Kauffman Bumbaugh and her husband Harold, of Fayetteville, PA, Donna Kauffman, of South Mountain, PA, Brian Kauffman and his wife Pixie, of Fairfield, PA, Gregory Kauffman, of South Mountain, PA, Kimberly Guise Kuntz, of Gettysburg, PA, Pamela D. Guise Redding and her husband Brian, of Orrtanna, PA, Patrick L. Kauffman, of Gettysburg, PA, nine grandchildren, Victoria Traxler, Jody Diehl, Shane Bumbaugh, Ashley Ball, Cole Kauffman, Mitch Kauffman, Dalton Kuntz, Grace Redding, Morgan Redding, four step-grandchildren, Terri Hertz, Dawn Coldsmith, Davey Bumbaugh, Jason Bumbaugh, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Zelda Kauffman, Alvine Stevens, Louise Staley, Charles Kauffman, Alfred Kauffman, Cloyd Kauffman, and Leo Kauffman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Fr. Joseph Carolin officiating. Burial with full military honors being presented by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in the Strang Cemetery, South Mountain, PA.
