Obituary for Greta Jean Poole
Greta Jean Poole, 84, died Friday July 21, 2017 at The Meadows of Gettysburg of an extended illness.
Born April 5, 1933 in Ecorse, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Alvin B. Mattson and Dorothy Runge. She was predeceased by her husband, William Poole, who died in 2011.
She and her late husband resided along the Oregon coast for many years. Mrs. Poole had many hobbies; oil painting, cake decorating, and cross country skiing. She also enjoyed RVing and did genealogy for many years.
Mrs. Poole is survived by her son, Larry Worden of Hampstead, MD, two daughters, Linda Creager and her husband Victor of Littlestown, PA and Diane Holt of Las Vegas, NV, a sister, Diane Masch of Venice, FL and a brother, Edward Mattson of Montgomery, AL, seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers; William Van Cleve, Don Mattson and James Mattson and a beloved daughter-in-law Doris, wife of Larry Worden.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9-11 a.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with a Memorial Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Schenning, officiating.
