Obituary for John I. Donmoyer
John I. Donmoyer, Sr. 89 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the York Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born February 4, 1929 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Barge A. & Jennie E. (Price) Donmoyer. John was predeceased by his first wife of 47 years, Mary C. (Carson) Donmoyer.

John owned and operated an excavation and construction business in the Gettysburg area for many years. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg. He was a hobby pilot and enjoyed flying with the local Barnstormers.

John is survived by his second wife of 16 years, Phyllis Jane (Dietrich) Donmoyer, two sons; Barge A. Donmoyer and John I. Donmoyer, Jr. and wife Diane, twin daughters; Jane M. Sentz and husband Doug and Joan L. Andes and husband Chris, all of Gettysburg, five grandchildren; John I. Donmoyer, III, Jake Donmoyer, Emily Svrcek and husband Mike, Sylvia Sentz and Doug Sentz, Jr., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters; Mildred J. Newell and Mary E. March.

A Memorial Service for John will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York St. Gettysburg with his Pastor, Rev. Michael Allwein, officiating. A private burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg. The family suggests memorials to; St. James Lutheran Church or EAA Chapter #1041, Young Eagles Program, C/O Herbert Bartell, 17 Faith Drive, New Oxford, PA 17350.
