Obituary for Margaret N. Wallen
Margaret N. (Flanagan) Wallen, 88, of Littlestown, PA died Sunday evening, January 7, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Taneytown, MD.
Born July 2, 1929 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Ethel (Fogel) Hoffman. She was the wife of the late Edward “Shorty” Wallen.
Mrs. Wallen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Littlestown. She worked various places throughout her career, including Gettysburg Shoe, Bendix, in Florida, and Jack Tar Manufacturing in Littlestown. She helped serve Meals on Wheels, and made crismons for St. Paul’s Church. In her free time she enjoyed quilting, embroidery, reading, putting together puzzles, and watching NCIS. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Reed and her husband Allan, of Taneytown, MD, Linda Evans and her husband Tom, of Tampa, FL, Cindy Powers and her husband David, of Carpegna, Italy, seven grandchildren, David Reed and his wife Kathryn, Donald Hahn, Jr. and his wife April, Brian Evans and his wife Lindy, Julie McCormick and her husband John, Michael Wallen and his wife Lissa, Sarah Powers and her spouse, Leila Winther, Jennifer Sentz and her husband Erick, and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Hahn, and her sister, Gloria Hoffman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial will be in the Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the services Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
