Obituary for Mervil Kauffman, Jr.
Mervil Kauffman, Jr., 70, 3320 New Baltimore Road, Fayetteville, PA died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Manor Care in Chambersburg, PA.
He was born August 26, 1946 in Waynesboro, PA the son of the late Mervil and Janet Hess Kauffman, Sr. Mr. Kauffman is survived by his wife Dinah Rexrode Kauffman.
Mervil was employed by Knouse Foods in Orrtanna, PA for 31 years until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of the South Mountain Fish & Game Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening but most of all spending time with his family and their cook-outs.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Kauffman is survived by four children; Kathy Hege and her husband Paul of Chambersburg, PA, Bryan Kauffman of Fayetteville, PA, Brandy Kauffman of Waynesboro, PA, Russell Kauffman of Fayetteville, PA, ten grandchildren; Jack Barnes, Steve Barnes, Kayla Barnes, Brian Barnes, Kelby Kauffman, Takoda Kauffman, Patrick Swieny, Makayla Swieny, Breanna Kauffman, Trenten Kauffman, four great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two sisters; Shirley Chambers of Fayetteville, PA, Betty Naugle of Fayetteville, PA, two brothers; Kenneth “Woody” Kauffman of Quincy, PA, Thomas Kauffman of Fayetteville, PA. He was predeceased by a grandson, Brent Kauffman and a sister, Margaret Sheffler.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 2:00 Pm at Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, PA. Interment will be in South
Mountain Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
