Obituary for Nancy Jane Klingler
Nancy Jane Klingler, age 93 of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 with her beloved family at her side. Born June 10, 1924 in Portage, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harvey & Elda (Holtzapple) Dickey. Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Mico F. Klingler, who died in 2007. Nancy graduated from Portage High School in 1942 and attended Madison College in Tennessee, graduating with a B.S. in Nutrition. She furthered her education by attending Andrews University in Michigan to become as dietary manager. She took post graduate classes at Gettysburg College and Columbia Union University to stay updated with her work. Nancy and her late husband farmed for 20 years in the Two Taverns area of Adams County and later went to work in the dietary department of the Hanover Hospital for 13 years. Nancy was a member of the Gettysburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dietary Managers Association, Gettysburg American Legion Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, working in her flower garden, any kind of handiwork, making quilts, and farming with her husband and family. Nancy was an excellent cook and baker and was known for her potato salad and pies. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Nancy is survived by her children; Warren Klingler and wife Tracy of Missouri, Marilyn Eckard and husband Ron of Hanover, PA and Francis Klingler and wife Kathy of Biglerville, PA, 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Edward Gary Klingler and 2 brothers; Stanford and Orange Dickey. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Pastor Kenneth Reid, officiating. A Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 25, from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
