Obituary for Terrry A. Wigent
Terry A. Wigent, 68, of New Oxford, PA died Wednesday evening, May 3, 2017 at his home.
Born December 7, 1948 in Cuba, NY he was the son of the late Stuart and Joan (Poore) Wigent. He was the husband of Linda L. (Kunes) Wigent of New Oxford to whom he was married for 47 years.
Terry was a United States Marine combat vetern, serving during Vietnam. He formerly attended Faith Baptist Church in Farmington, NY, and currently was an active member of First Baptist Church in Gettysburg, PA. He worked as a surveyor for DJ Parrone & Associates in Rochester, NY for over 20 years. He was a fighter all his life, first in the war, and then in his most recent fight with Parkinson’s Disease for the last 18 years. He loved his family and spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Terry is survived by his daughter, Heather L. Kelleher and her husband Parker, of Gardners, PA, his grandchildren, Charlotte and Hunter Kelleher, his brother, Larry Wigent, of Arkansas, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Services for Terry will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1015 Chambersburg Rd., Gettysburg, PA with his pastor the Rev. Carl Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday morning at the church. There will be a service at the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at 2:30 PM Tuesday afternoon.
