Obituary for Ab H. Rainbow
Ab H. Rainbow, 94, of Gettysburg, PA died Friday afternoon, February 12, 2016 at Genesis Gettysburg Center.
Born February 7, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of the late Raymond Rainbow. He was the husband of the late Ann (Wharrey) Rainbow who died in September of 2005.
Mr. Rainbow was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps in which he was a fighter pilot during World War II. In his civilian life he was a commercial airline pilot for United Airlines. Ab loved his wife, his family, flying, and the community of Gettysburg.
He is survived by his son, Frederick Rainbow and daughter-in-law, Peggie, of Millersville, MD, two granddaughters (Diane and Carrie), their husbands, and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Allan and Raymond.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, PA the Rev. Dr. Harry Winsheimer and the Rev. Dr. David Wright officiating. Private burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
