Obituary for Anna Elizabeth Myers
Anna Elizabeth Myers, 87, of Bonneauville, PA died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.
Born February 28, 1930 in Gettysburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Alvin C. and Mary E. (Thomas) Bupp. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Myers, Sr. who died in 2014.
Anna was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Bonneauville. She was very active in foster care and Catholic Charities over the years housing and supporting number of young children. She was a leader of the 4H Club and helped with local Girl Scout Troops in the area. She worked for a time at the Lutheran Home. She enjoyed polka music and cooking for her family, but what she loved the most was her family, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her six children, Joanne Miller and her husband Vernon, of Silver Spring, MD, Donald E. Myers, Jr. and his wife Roxey, of East Berlin, PA, Michael R. Myers and his wife Joanne, of Spring Grove, PA, John P. Myers and his wife Hattie, of Gettysburg, PA, Teresa M. Myers, of Gettysburg, PA, Stephen D. Myers, of Gettysburg, PA, five grandchildren, Douglas Myers, Kristin Roth, Jimmy Myers, Johnny Myers, David Myers, 10 great grandchildren, Ashlyn Myers, Madilyn Myers, Jacob Myers, Victoria Myers, Vivienne Myers, Vincent Myers, Benjamin Roth, Josiah Roth, Nathaniel Roth, Malachi Roth, and her sister, Mary Kepner, of Gettysburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her three sons, James Myers, Alan Myers, David Myers, her two great grandchildren, William Myers, Christian Myers, her brother Kenneth Bupp, and her sister, Jane Bupp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover St., Bonneauville, PA with Fr. Benny Jose Celebrant. Burial will be in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have a prayer service from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, As well as from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass Thursday morning at the church.
