Obituary for Audrey Virginia Ramsey
Audrey Virginia LabBar Ramsey. Age 92, passed away on Sunday August 4th, 2019 in Mechanicsburg, PA. Born June 28, 1927 in Kirksville, MO, she was the oldest of three daughters of Alva LaBar and Verna Bailey LaBar. She attended Illinois State Normal University for two years and married John William Ramsey on June 13, 1948.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ramsey, of Gettysburg, PA and three grandchildren: Christopher R. Harm, Robyn Harm Albright and Katherine Bigelow Mabson and four great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, John W. Ramsey, and her daughter, Candeece Ramsey Harm, of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Audrey was a wonderful homemaker, a stellar cook and seamstress. For many years, she tailored most of her elegant wardrobe. She was an excellent Duplicate bridge player and achieved Life Master status. She was an avid reader and especially loved biographies. She enjoyed travel and visited Europe and Mexico several times. She and her husband spent 27 very happy years in retirement in Pinehurst NC.
