Obituary for Bertha J. "Betty" Teeter Davis
Bertha J. “Betty” Teeter Davis, age 88 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Duncannon, PA on October 20, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John D. & Marjorie (Utz) Teeter. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Jack Davis who died April 22, 2015. Betty was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Gettysburg, Gettysburg Garden Club, member and past president of the Biglerville Garden Club, Federation of Pennsylvania Garden Clubs, Gettysburg Women’s Club, PWHP Samaria Shrine #43, Past President of Adams County Chapter of the American Cancer Society and Past President of Annie M. Warner Hospital Auxiliary. Betty is survived by her three daughter’s; Susan Cline and Nancy Carson both of Chambersburg, PA and Margaret “Sam” Main and her husband Edward of Gettysburg, daughter-in-law, Sue Pitzer of Fairfield, PA, step-daughter, Mori Morell of Bethesda, MD, step-son, Lewis Davis and wife Gloria of Walnut Creek, CA, seven grandson’s; Adam Pitzer, Zacharias Pitzer, John T. Pitzer, II, David G. Cline, Jason A. Cline, Hays D. Carson and Joshua Main, thirteen great grandchildren and a sister, Nancy Hopf of Timonium, MD. She was predeceased by a son, John T. Pitzer, infant son, H. Earl Pitzer, grandson, Matthew Pitzer, step-son, Andrew Davis and a sister, Margaret Teeter. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 East High St. Gettysburg, PA with her pastor, Rev. George Heberling, officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at SpitiTrust Lutheran Hospice from Adams County and Betty’s caregiver, Melanie for their compassionate care.
