
Obituary for Betty Landis Shriner
Betty Landis Shriner, age 91, of Fairfield, PA, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018 at SpiriTrust Lutheran the Village at Gettysburg. Born May 25, 1926, in Fairfield PA, Betty was the daughter of the late James Landis, Sr. and Mary Flohr Landis.
She graduated from Fairfield High School, class of 1944, and continued her education at Thompson Business School, York, PA. After graduation, Betty was employed at the Adams County Farm Bureau before her marriage to L. Glenn Shriner in 1948. She then became a homemaker, mother, teacher’s aide, and office assistant at the Fairfield schools.
In her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling and she cherished the many family vacations to the Outer Banks.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Sites, and her daughter, Linda Kranias.
Betty is survived by her brother, James Landis, Jr., Fairfield; her children, Ann Zapf and husband Arthur of Westminster, MD; James Shriner and wife Cheryl, of Urbana, IL: Gregory Shriner and wife Susan of Williamsburg, VA; and son-in-law, Ernie Kranias of Gettysburg, PA; six grandchildren, Daniel Wright, Lauren Wright, Marshall Shriner, Clare Shriner, Sarah Shriner, and Thomas Shriner.
Services will be held
Funeral services will be held, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfield, PA with Rev. Beverly Donnella officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fairfield PA. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
