Obituary for Betty Mae Savary
Betty Mae Savary, 81, of Gettysburg, PA died Wednesday morning, March 9, 2016 at her home.
Born January 25, 1935 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Childress) Lacey. She was the wife of the late Clarence W. Savary who died in 1998.
Mrs. Savary worked for many years at the Larson’s Quality Inn in Gettysburg and also worked for 10 years at the Gettysburg Lutheran Home. She was a member of the Gettysburg Eagles.
Betty is survived by her four children, Nancy Propst, of Chambersburg, PA, Daniel Savary, of Chambersburg, PA, Patricia Wileman, of Aspers, PA, Jane Carey, of Arendtsville, PA, 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Edward Savary, granddaughter, Amanda Ray Savary, and a step-great granddaughter, Ashlyn Lacey Propst.
Funeral services will be held 9:00 AM, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home ,125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Pastor John Estes officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday evening, March 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
