Obituary for Bill Howe Warren
Bill Howe Warren, 90 of the Brethren Home Community at Cross Keys Village died Saturday, February 10, 2018.
He was born February 19, 1927, the son of the late J. Melvin and S. Belle Howe Warren of Arendtsville, PA. He was married to the late Dorothy Barbour Warren who died October 8, 2005.
Bill was a graduate of Arendtsville Vocational School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Following his time in the Army, Bill was employed at Warren Chevrolet Sales in Gettysburg. In 1959, he and his wife Dorothy bought the Criterion Motor Lodge on Carlisle Street. They operated the motel for 26 years. In 1965 they started Gettysburg TV Cable, later selling their shares of the cable business. In 1985 they retired to their home on the Biglerville Road.
Bill is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Zion United Church of Christ, Arendtsville, PA at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Kim Blocher officiating. Private interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Zion UCC, 22 Gettysburg Street, PO Box 538, Arendtsville, PA 17303.
