
Obituary for Burnell F. Harner
Burnell F. Harner, 93 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community. Born November 30, 1925 in Littlestown, PA, he was the son of the late Stewart D. & Ethel (Bair) Harner, Sr. Mr. Harner was predeceased by his wife Betty (Riley) Harner who died in 2016. He was a 1943 graduate of Littlestown High School. Mr. Harner served with the United States Navy on board the USS Wisconsin in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked for many years at Clair Frock Co. in Thurmont, MD and later for ACNB Bank before his retirement. Mr. Harner was a life member of the Littlestown AmVets and the Adams County Fish and Game Association. Survivors include his brother, Zane Harner of North Bend, OR and two sisters; Delores Harner Warner of New Oxford, PA and Fiona Harner Swope of Lakewood, CA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five siblings: Stewart D. Harner, Jr., Pauline Harner Miller, Mabel Harner Crabbs, Fred A. Harner and Donald W. Harner. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Interment with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. A Viewing will be held on Monday, February 25 at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Online tributes and condolences can be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
