Obituary for C. William Bucher
C. William Bucher, 86, lifelong resident of Cashtown, PA died Friday morning, June 30, 2017 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA.
Born April 12, 1931 in Cashtown, PA he was the son of the late Clarence and Clara (Scott) Bucher. He was the husband of Jane (Stultz) Bucher of Cashtown to whom he was married to for 57 years.
Mr. Bucher was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Cashtown. He was a 1950 graduate of Gettysburg High School. He owned and operated his fruit farm in Cashtown for many years. Bill was an avid bridge player, hunter, and fisherman and was a member of the Adams County Fish & Game, Buchanan Valley Rod & Gun Club, Mummasburg Sportsman Club, and a life member of the Cashtown Fire Company. He was probably best known throughout the area though for selling of various raffle tickets for a number of different organizations for their fundraising efforts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by nieces, nephews, and many loyal friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Bucher, and his two sisters, Helen Rebert, and Ellen “Sis” Cook.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg. Burial will be in the Flohr’s Cemetery, McKnightstown, PA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
