Obituary for Carl W. Beaver

Carl W. Beaver, 91, formerly of Westminster, MD went to his heavenly home on Monday October 16, 2023 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA.

Born June 7, 1932 in Westminster, MD he was the son of the late Donald G. Beaver and the late Mary (Byers) Brewer and the late Arthur D. Brewer. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane (Brashaers) Beaver who died July 2, 2013.

Carl was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a Pvt First Class Cook stationed at Fort Devens, Mass. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He was known as the Culligan Man in Carroll County for many years and owned Beaver’s Water Treatment. His business ventures also included IBA Farm Supply and RainSoft Water Treatment.

Carl was a long time member of the Westminster Lions Club. He and Betty attended Sandymount United Methodist Church. Carl enjoyed going to the Colts Football games and had a passion for restoring vintage cars. Carl and Betty enjoyed dancing at Frock’s Sunnybrook Farm with the Swingmasters Band and often visited Blob’s Park German Dance Hall in Jessup, Maryland.

Carl is survived by his two children, Terry Winesett and her husband Adrian, of The Villages, FL, Byron “Scott”Beaver and his wife, Lisa, of Littlestown, PA, his two grandchildren, Ashley Winesett and her soon to be husband Joshua Bartholomew, of Michigan, Brittany Noss and her husband Eric, of Littlestown, PA and his two great grandchildren, Aryn Noss and Camden Bartholomew. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Daley.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life service and luncheon on Wednesday November 15th at 11 a.m. at the Gettysburg Seventh Day Adventist Church 1493 Biglerville Road Gettysburg, PA 17325.
