Obituary for Carol E. Wherley
Carol E. Wherley, 60, of 1520 Hanover Rd, Gettysburg died Thursday October 12, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born March 16, 1957 in Gettysburg, Pa to the late Lester and Edith Greenwald Miller. Carol was predeceased by her husband Bob, in April of 2016.
She attended Biglerville High School. Earlier in her life she was employed at Musselman’s in Biglerville and most recently at Golden Living Center in Gettysburg. Any given time friends and family stopped by, Carol would be quick to cook up a meal and serve everyone. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and yard saling with her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Ravina.
Carol is survived by a son Jason Wherley of Gettysburg, Pa; daughter Casey Wherley of Jersey Shore, Pa; 3 sisters, Connie Curtis of Diamondhead, MS, Susan Wherley of Gettysburg, Pa, Stacy Nowak of Fairfield, Pa, 3 brothers, Barry Miller of Mechanicsburg, Pa, Scott Miller of Bonneauville, Pa and Jeff Miller of New Providence, Pa. Also there were a number nieces and nephews.
A memorial service in Carol’s honor will be held Monday October 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Rev. Stephen Baker officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
