
Obituary for Carolyn "Ki" Neely
Carolyn “Ki” Neely, 91, of Fairfield, PA died Friday morning, December 14, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born October 13, 1927 in Gettysburg, PA she was the daughter of the late David and Henrietta (Hersh) Blocher. She was the wife of the late Robert U. Neely who died November 13, 2005.
Mrs. Neely was a member of Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the church choir. She graduated from Gettysburg College where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority and Shippensburg University. She was a teacher in the Fairfield School District for 20 years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading, learning, farming and gardening. And loved going to the beach.
Ki is survived by her three children, Elizabeth N. Gibney and her husband Randy, of Mechanicsburg, PA, Robert H. Neely and his wife Janet, of Edmond, OK, Margaret A. Metz and her husband David, of Fairfield, PA, her daughter-in-law, Lauren Neely, of Gettysburg, PA, her eight grandchildren, Sandra Gibney, of Philadelphia, PA, Stephanie Phillips, of Lititz, PA, Sarah Neely, of Oklahoma City, OK, Samantha de la Vega, of Oklahoma City, OK, Kaylee Metz, of Lancaster, PA, David Metz, of Fairfield, PA, Aimee Metz, of Fairfield, PA, Sergei Ismailoff, of Gettysburg, PA, one great grandchild, Maura Neely Phillips, and her sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” Bucher, of Fairfield, PA. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce Neely and Kevin Neely and her brother, David Blocher.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, 1865 Knoxlyn Rd., Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Dr. Mark Englund-Krieger, Rev. Dale Williams, and Rev. Dr. Kim Blocher officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after services at a luncheon in the church hall.
