Obituary for Carrie R. Kauffmann
Carrie R. Kauffmann, 90, of 470 Heritage Drive, Gettysburg, PA and formerly of Grove City, PA died Friday, April 15, 2016. Born May 24, 1925 in McKeesport, PA, Carrie was the daughter of late Nathan M. and Carrie Lou Harper Robinson. She was the loving wife of the late LeRoy (“Roy”) C. Kauffmann for 45 years.
Carrie Kauffmann graduated in 1947 from Westminster College with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. She worked as a Buyer at Foley’s Department Store in Houston and Gimbels Department Store in Philadelphia, and later worked as a Manager of the Grove City Hospital Gift Shop.
Carrie was a devoted member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and several local bridge groups.
Carrie is survived by her two daughters, Barbara K. Angel (George) of Laytonsville, MD and Nancy E. Rollman (Doug) of Great Falls, VA; four grandchildren: Matt and Lizzie Rollman, and Alex and Cory Angel; a sister Bertha Mae Chaplin; a niece and four nephews; numerous cousins; and friends who will all miss her dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church at 208 Baltimore St, Gettysburg, PA 17325. A reception will follow the Memorial Service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church or to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
