Obituary for Caryl L. Waddell
Caryl L. Waddell, age 93 of Gettysburg, PA died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg.
Born March 13, 1923 in Freedom, PA she was the daughter of the late Walter & Alfretta Alice (Hall) Dillon. Caryl was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Donald C. Waddell, who died in 1989.
She had worked in the Gettysburg area her entire life, for many years at Gettysburg College, Inductive Equipment, Hartzell’s, Fishers, Dr. Shoman’s Drug Store and the Modern Miss Shop.
Caryl is survived by her 2 son’s; Donald Waddell and wife Jane and Samuel Waddell and wife Janis, both of Gettysburg, 3 grandson’s; Todd and Gregory Waddell and Chad Waddell and wife Tammy, all of Gettysburg, 2 great grandchildren, Luke and Heidi Waddell of Gettysburg. Caryl also has 2 step-sisters; Irene and Betty Lou, 3 half-sisters; Mary Ellen, Dorothy and Sandy and 3 half-brothers; Richard, Eddie and Clarence. Caryl was predeceased by a son, Rodney Waddell, and brothers; Walter and Alford Dillon.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Pastor Martin Munoz, officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
