Obituary for Charles "Bob" Shetter
Charles R. “Bob” Shetter, 86, Hollidaysburg, PA died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
He was born April 30, 1930 in Gettysburg, PA the son of the late Cloyd “Cookie” and Mary Weaver Shetter.
Charles graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1948. Following school he enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 30 years, retiring in 1978 with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. While in the Navy he served in the Korean and the Vietnam War’s. After retiring from the Navy, he flew small aircraft for Shell Oil Corporation and was a supervisor at their refinery located at Pittsburgh, CA. He had been very active in the VFW in Fallen, NV and the Northwest region of the country.
Mr. Shetter is survived by, a sister, Janet Williams of Wrightsville, PA, a brother, Edward Shetter of Gettysburg, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother and sisters; Dorothy Ellis, Virginia Shetter, Mary Catherine Shetter, Barbara Weaver and James Shetter. He will be missed by all.
