Charles D. Skipper, 88, South Mountain Road, Fayetteville, PA died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Michaux Manor Living Center.
He was born May 9, 1929 in Lutherville, MD, the son of Elsie Skipper. Charles is survived by his wife Hattie Smith Skipper.
Mr. Skipper was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War as a Supply Supervisor. He received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. He was a member of the Gettysburg American Legion Post 202, the Owning Mills, MD VFW Post 521, and the DAV.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by children: Linda Sherman, Ellicott City, MD, Amy Shaw, Tampa, FL, Harry Skipper, Westminster, MD, and Edward Skipper, Tampa, FL, five grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Anne Gardner, Jacksonville, FL, step children, Randall Martin (deceased), Roosevelt Martin III, Upper Marlboro, MD, and Tracy Martin-Tilghman, Lanham, MD.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
