Obituary for Charles Dobson, Sr.
Charles Dobson, Sr., 81, of Fairfield, PA died Monday afternoon, March 26, 2018 at the York Hospital.
Born August 17, 1936 in Walterboro, SC he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Vercie Mae (Robinson) Dobson, Sr. He was the husband of Agnes M. (Moran) Dobson, of Fairfield, PA to whom he was married to for 60 years.
Mr. Dobson was a Veteran of the United States Army serving for over 30 years as a communications engineer. He was also employed by SAIC where retired after 15 years of service as an engineer. Mr. Dobson was an avid bowler and a member of the Mason-Dixon Men's Bowling Association. In addition, he was a member of the VFW in Chambersburg, PA. He was proceeded in death by his siblings: Robert Jr., James, Carolyn and Irene (Dobson) Womack. He also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife Charles is survived by his three children, Grace Dobson, of Frederick, MD, Regina Dobson, of Atlanta, GA, Charles Dobson, Jr., of Chicago, IL, and his grandchild, Jamie Dobson, of Atlanta, GA.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Friday April 6, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 27 East Main St., Fairfield, PA with Rev. Shannon Sullivan officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to the services Friday.
