Obituary for Charles Roy Plank
Charles Roy Plank, 79 of Biglerville, PA ascended into Heaven on Saturday, November 12, 2016.
Born October 13, 1937 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late John & Hazel (Dick) Plank. Charles was the beloved husband of Sylvia A. ( Heller) Plank to whom he was married to for 58 years. He is survived by his 3 daughters; Karen Plank and companion Larry Miller of Biglerville, Jodi Plank and companion Oz Gable of East Berlin, PA and Robin Haller and companion Steven Powell of Biglerville. He was also blessed with 2 grandsons; Cody and Colby Haller both of Biglerville. Charles is survived by 3 siblings, Jim Plank of Gettysburg, Anne Shaffer of Gettysburg and Shirley Rudisill of Gardners, PA. He was predeceased by 8 siblings, Dale, Richard, Art, Earl and Ira Plank, Betty Adelsberger, Hester Shaffer, and Charlotte Shaffer.
Charles retired after many years of service with Dal-Tile Corp. in the Bendersville and Gettysburg factories. He didn’t let retirement slow him down, he and his wife, Sylvia enjoyed traveling to many parts of the United States. Charles was an enthusiastic sports fanatic, enjoying Penn State, Baltimore Orioles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. These teams have lost one of their greatest fans.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Interment will be in the Biglerville Cemetery, with Larry Miller, Jeff Sterner, Wayne Noel, Colby Haller, Greg Rudisill and Brandon Heller serving as pallbearers. A viewing will be held on Friday, at the funeral home from 9:30-11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorials to the Biglerville Fire Co., 111 South Main St. Biglerville, PA 17307.
