Obituary for Chester J. Pentlicki
Chester J. Pentlicki, 78, 11 Evergreen Court, Gettysburg, PA passed away Friday, June 24, 2016.
He was born December 27, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ the son of the late Chester “Stanley” and Helen Skowronski Pentlicki. His wife of 49 years, Lorraine D. Pentlicki, died in 2011.
Mr. Pentlicki was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg, PA. He graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed a significant start at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill NJ working on the TELSTAR project with his future wife before he began his long and successful career as a Senior Scientist at COMSAT in Washington DC, from 1967 to his retirement. Chet and his wife enjoyed time between their homes in Gettysburg PA and Ocean View DE. His hobbies and interests included time spent with his family, WWII history, politics, model building, travel and music. He was a generous, loving and loyal person who will be greatly missed by those that loved him dearly and were privileged enough to know him.
Mr. Pentlicki is survived by a daughter, Diane D. Gruenwald of Ijamsville, MD, a son, Stephen J. Pentlicki and his wife Jodi of Basking Ridge, NJ, five grandchildren; Nicholas Gruenwald, Paige Gruenwald, Joseph Gruenwald, Olivia Pentlicki, and Walter Pentlicki
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 30, 2016 at St.
Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Daniel Mitzel celebrant. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 455 Table Rock Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325
