Obituary for Christopher P. Richardson

Christopher P. Richardson, 56, of Waynesboro, PA passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Waynesboro Hospital.

Chris was born October 14, 1967 to the late Delmar and Tynia (Trembow) Richardson in Gettysburg, PA. Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Tynia Richardson and his brother, Greg Richardson.

He is survived by his wife, Laura, his children, son Cody Richardson (wife Jessica Internadao Richardson), daughter Emma Lugo (husband John Lugo), son Drew Richardson, granddaughters Jada and Nova Lugo, step-sons Dakota, Forrest, Xavier and Cole Rhyne, brothers Ed (Karen)and Eric (Stacy) Richardson, nephew and nieces Jordan, Taylor and Frankie.

Chris was a graduate of Fairfield High School where he played soccer, basketball and baseball. Chris held the all-time scoring record for the Fairfield High School basketball program for roughly 20 years. He also attended and played basketball at York College.

He worked as a project manager at GT Brothers, Westminster, MD. He also was a beloved basketball coach for the Gettysburg youth and high school basketball program for 15 years.

Chris was very much a giver in life and now in death by physically contributing to The Gift of Life. He was passionate about presenting the Greg Richardson Athletic Scholarship Award for both Gettysburg and Fairfield High Schools since the early 2000’s. Because his brother was killed by a drunk driver, he offered his driving services every holiday. He was also passionate about traveling and attending his children’s, step-children’s and granddaughter’s sporting and music events was one of his passions. Chris was an avid Philadelphia sports fan – Eagles, Flyers, 76ers, Phillies.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 7pm at the Otterbein Church, 912 S Potomac St, Waynesboro, PA 17268. A visitation will precede the service beginning at 5pm where the family will receive friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the Greg Richardson Foundation at $GRichFoundation on cashapp for Chris’s desire to bless others in his brother’s name.
