Obituary for Claude "Chip" Henry Corl
Claude “Chip” Henry Corl, Jr., 86, of Fairfield, PA passed away surrounded by his family in Chambersburg after a long illness.
Born in the Gettysburg Hospital on April 10, 1932, he was son of the late Claude H. and Lucy (Higbee) Corl, Sr.
Chip graduated from Towson University and after graduation he served in the United States Army for two years. Following the Army, he taught school at Frederick County Public School for 30 years. Chip was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved camping with his family and friends, just spending his 40th year of camping in Maine.
Chip is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Joyce (Kuykendall) Corl, his daughter Heather and son-in-law Bill, his loyal friend Sophie, his brother, Lewis and wife Diana, his sister Mary and husband Ray, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Incarnation United Church of Christ, 124 West Main St., Emmitsburg, MD, with Rev. Warren Rice officiating.
