
Obituary for Col. Edward Vincent DeBoeser, Jr.
Col. Edward Vincent DeBoeser, Jr., 82, of Gettysburg, PA died Friday morning, November 17, 2017 at his home.
Born September 4, 1935 in Chicago, IL he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (Webster) DeBoeser, Sr. He was the husband of Anne M. (Dudley) DeBoeser of Gettysburg to whom he was married for 59 years.
Col. DeBoeser was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fairfield, PA. He graduated from West Point in 1958 and upon graduation served his country for 30 years in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Vince loved fishing and was president of the Borderline Bass Anglers for many years. He participated in many fishing tournaments and enjoyed coordinating and running tournaments for young fishermen during his stint with Borderline.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Thomas DeBoeser and his wife Tina, of Stafford, VA, three grandchildren, Ian, William and Haley Anne DeBoeser, and two sisters, Noreen Garges, of Florida and Diane Terry and her husband Ken, of Albuquerque, NM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Rd., Fairfield, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass Saturday at the church. Col. DeBoeser will be interred in the Arlington National Cemetery at a future time.
