Obituary for Constance J. Picard, II
Constance J. Picard, II of Gettysburg, PA passed away at the age of 71 on September 24, 2017 at her home. Born June 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. Picard, Sr. and Constance J. Picard. Constance was baptized on October 20, 1946 at St. Brendan’s Roman Catholic Church in Providence, RI. Constance attended the University of Maryland, in Germany, and Brookdale University in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. She also attended extensive management and leadership courses, having been selected for the Army Management Staff College, Sustaining Base Leadership and Management (SBLM) Program, at Fort Belvoir, VA from May to August, 2001. Constance had a long and successful career from 1978-2008 as a civilian management and logistics analyst with the U.S. Army. She spent many years aboard during her career, including tours in Germany, Italy, Vietnam and Japan. She spoke German and French fluently. Constance had a very loving relationship with her parents, particularly her mother. Her parents would travel to visit her when she was working aboard. She spent countless hours researching her family history and genealogy. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life on Constance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 45 W est High St. Gettysburg, PA with Fr. John Kuchinski, Celebrant. Interment will be private. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg is assisting with the funeral arrangements.
