Obituary for Dale H. Hartzel
Dale H. Hartzel, 76, Douglasville, PA died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his home.
He was born April 9, 1941 in Arendtsville, PA the son of the late Dale and Anna Myers Hartzel. Dale’s wife, Gertrude J. “Trudy” Hartzel died in 2003.
Mr. Hartzel was a graduate of Biglerville High School. He then enlisted in the US Air Force for four years, some of which were spent in Japan. He was a lifelong salesman; first in food sales and later in furniture sales. He devoted his life to supporting his family, both financially and emotionally. He was a caring husband and a spectacular father. He loved connecting with people. He loved golf. He loved to laugh.
Mr. Hartzel is survived by his daughter, Teresa A. Hartzel and her fiancé John Wetter of Collegeville, PA, and grandson, Kyle Wetter; two sisters; Martha Dehoff of Gettysburg, PA and Betty Bohrer of Gettysburg, PA. Dale was also predeceased by a sister, Charlotte Wolff.
A graveside Memorial service will be held Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11: AM at Fairview Cemetery, Arendtsville, PA with Rev. Stephen Herr officiating.
