DixieLee Elliott, 78, 6375 Chambersburg Road, Fayetteville, PA died Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1937 in Chambersburg, PA the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary Bowen Hawley. Her husband of 55 years, James G. Elliott, Sr. died in 2010.
DixieLee was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and was a former member of the Gettysburg United Methodist Church where she served as Youth Coordinator for 20 years. For many years she was employed at the Wax Museum in Gettysburg, PA. She enjoyed her time at the beach, doing puzzles and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by three children; James G. Elliott, Jr. and his wife Bobbi Jo of Biglerville, PA, Charles R. “Rick” Elliott and his wife Suzanne of Orrtanna, PA, Debra Lee Bentz and her husband Michael of Fayetteville, PA, seven grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a sister Barbara Anne Baer of Mechanicsburg, PA. She was predeceased by a grandson, Nathanael R. Elliott and a sister, Mary M. Murlatt.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, PA at 3:00 PM. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 18, 2016 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 1140 Edgar Avenue, Chambersburg, PA from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
