Obituary for Donald C. Uber
Donald C. Uber, 86, of Gettyburg, PA died Wednesday evening April 26, 2017 at The Gardens at Gettysburg Nursing Home.
Born July 1, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Lewis and Isabelle (Laktis) Uber. He the husband of the late Jacqueline (Sanders) Uber who died November 5, 2015.
Mr. Uber was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He attended schools in Philadelphia and earned his Bachelor of Science in Education at West Chester University in 1951. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a sales and service manager at Inland Container, Hanover Container, and number of other container companies for a number of years. He served as auditor for Straban Township for over 20 years. In addition he was a Scout Leader, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Gettysburg Elks and Gettysburg Eagles.
Donald is survived his two children, Victoria Uber Thieme, of Gettysburg, PA, Robert Lewis Uber and his wife Jennifer, of Biglerville, PA, four grandchildren, Megan Thieme D’Errico and her husband Robert, Caitlin Thieme Medine and her husband Matthew, Mallory Uber Hewitt and her husband Alex, Grant Robert Uber, and four great grandchildren. He was the oldest of three children with his brother John and his sister Dorothy preceding him in death.
