Obituary for Donald C. Fazenbaker
Donald C. Fazenbaker, 96 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at SpiriTrust Lutheran at Utz Terrace in Hanover, PA.
Mr. Fazenbaker was born on September 02, 1922 in Westernport, Maryland and was the son of the late Jonas & Flossie (Michel) Fazenbaker. He was predeceased by his two wives, Nadine (Small) Fazenbaker, who died in 1979 and Phyllis (Hess) Fazenbaker who died in 2010.
Mr. Fazenbaker was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, PA. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific on Okinawa. Mr. Fazenbaker had co-owned and operated the former Lippy’s Men Shop in Gettysburg and had been employed at The Gettysburg Times publishing department for many years. Mr. Fazenbaker was a life member of the Gettysburg VFW Post #15 and a member of Gettysburg American Legion Post #202.
He is survived by two sons: Philip “Flip” Fazenbaker of Gettysburg, Timothy Fazenbaker and wife Donna of Gettysburg, PA and his daughter, Joy Fazenbaker Noel of Shippensburg, PA, eight grandchildren; Andrea Noel Dunn, Derek Noel, Trisha Noel, Nathan A. Fazenbaker, Lisa B. Fazenbaker, Kristi Snyder, Karie Newman and Megan Marshall and eight great grandchildren.
Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Michael Allwein, officiating and full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans.
