Obituary for Dorothy B. Diehl
Dorothy B. Diehl, 95, 444 Carrolls Tract Road, Fairfield, PA died Monday, January 2, 2017 at her home.
She was born December 18, 1921 in Cashtown, PA the daughter of the late Robert D. and Blanche Henry Bream. Dorothy’s husband, John M. Diehl died in 1991.
Mrs. Diehl was a member of Flohrs Lutheran Church in Cashtown where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and with the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Gettysburg High School where she played on the girl’s basketball team. For a short time she was employed in York, PA as a legal secretary. Dorothy and her husband were involved with various farm groups in the area, and carried a love of gardening with her for most of her life. Most of all she was a beloved mother and grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Kevin Diehl and his wife Debbie of Fairfield, PA, two grandchildren; Justin Diehl and Kelsey Howe and her husband Austin.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Flohrs Lutheran Church, McKnightstown, PA with Rev. Douglas Boden officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Flohrs Lutheran Church, 595 Flohrs Church Road, McKnightstown, PA 17343.
