Obituary for Dorothy J. Caskey
Dorothy J. Caskey, 96, of Aspers, PA passed away, Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA.
Born April 10, 1921 in Gettysburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Moser) Fridinger. She was the wife of the late John W. Caskey, Sr. who passed July 21, 2001.
Mrs. Caskey was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Gettysburg, PA. She was employed by various companies in the Adams County area, including G.C. Murphy’s, Schwartz’s Laundromat, working as a clerk for the state, and finally retiring after 19 years from Rice Fruit Company in Gardners.
She is survived by her five children, James Caskey, of Chambersburg, Ken Caskey, of Florida, Dori Owen, of Florida, Tom Caskey, of Aspers, Douglas Caskey, of Gettysburg, her sister, Mary Louise Shelleman, of Aspers, a special granddaughter, who also served as her caregiver for the past several years, Deb Himes, as well as many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four children, John Caskey, Jr., Jean Toomey, Patricia Knight, Barbara Mock, and a number of brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Memorial Baptist Church, 1096 Biglerville Rd., Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA, as well as from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.
