Obituary for Dr. John Nevin Carson III
Dr. John Nevin Carson, III, died on June 10, 2017 after a short, hard-fought battle with biliary cancer.
John was born on September 4, 1945 to Virginia Manning and John Nevin Carson, II in Philadelphia, PA.
After completing his medical training, John settled with his wife Cathy in York where they raised their three children. For nearly 40 years, “Dr. C.” served as a nephrologist in his community, dedicated to treating his patients with care and compassion. Paramount to John’s life were his love for and devotion to his family. He took great pride in comforting, supporting, and providing for his loved ones.
Surviving John are his sister, Susan Brown, wife Cathy of 45 years, daughter Amie, son John and his wife Meg, and daughter Catherine and her husband Blake. Affectionately known as “Pop”, John took great delight in his seven adoring grandchildren, Lucy, Natalie, Owen, Ella, Myles, Declan, and Johnny.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:30 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The service will be followed by a reception from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Hanover Country Club in Abbottstown, PA.
