Obituary for Edward C. Miller
Edward C. Miller, 83 of Gettysburg, PA died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the York Hospital.

Born May 14, 1933 in Bayonne, New Jersey he was the son of the late Joseph A. & Florence M. (Hoenigman) Miller.

Edward was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Navy. He was employed by the United States Postal Service his entire career. Edward loved the history of the battle of Gettysburg and following his retirement he and his wife moved to Gettysburg. He had a role in the movie Gettysburg, enjoyed war gaming and painting antique soldiers. He was a life member of HMGS and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, LaVerne G. (Williams) Miller, daughter, Wendy Miller of Lakewood, NJ, two son’s: Edward Miller and wife Mauren of New Egypt, NJ and Kurt Miller and Jackie O’Reilly of Blakeslee, PA and five grandchildren; Aubrey, Kurt, Jr., Ryan, Charlotte and Megan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 45 West High St. Gettysburg, PA with Fr. Daniel Richards, Celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. The family suggests memorials to the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Dr. Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
