Edward E. Steinour, Sr., 86, Gettysburg, PA died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg, PA.
He was born July 4, 1931 in Gettysburg, PA the son of the late Charles and Mary Herring Steinour. Edward is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Marie McDannell Steinour.
Mr. Steinour was a member of Gettysburg Church of the Brethren. For many years he was the Supervisor of Maintenance of Dick Michael’s Properties in Gettysburg. Ed was a hardworking man who also enjoyed fishing, bowling and tending his garden. He also built the home he lived in for the last 63 years. Ed also found great joy and comfort in his dog, Ginger.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Steinour is survived by two sons; Edward E. Steinour, Jr. and his Eva of Gettysburg, PA, Timothy C. Steinour and his wife Barbara of Pittsburgh, PA, two daughters; Cindy Leedy and her husband John of Dillsburg, PA, Lauren Wagner and her husband Michael of Gettysburg, PA, 11 grandchildren; Christopher Steinour, Janie Shuey, Jessica Loughney, Jennifer Steinour, Stephanie Rosenberry, Brandon Rosenberry, Joseph Wagner, Marvin Blevins, Gregory Blevins, Amanda Finnell, Jacob Leedy, 11 great grandchildren, two brothers; Donald Steinour of Gettysburg, PA, and Charles Steinour of Gettysburg, PA. He was predeceased by two brothers; Robert Steinour and Francis Steinour.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 3:00 PM from the Gettysburg Church of the Brethren with Pastor Dick Godfrey and Pastor Pat Arendt officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Adams Count SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
