Obituary for Elmer W. Davis
Elmer W. Davis, 90, of Cashtown, PA died Friday morning, March 2, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born October 26, 1927 in Bland, VA he was the son of the late John Andrew and Nancy Catherine (Chandler) Davis. He was the husband of Rose M. (Richardson) Davis of Cashtown, PA to whom he was married to for 50 years.
Mr. Davis was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He worked as a shipping clerk at the Letterkenney Army Depot and after his retirement there worked as a security guard for Schaad Security at Knouse Foods in Orrtanna when he was in his 80’s.
In addition to his wife, Elmer is survived by his daughter, Tina Davis-Miller, of Cashtown, PA, two grandchildren, Alexis Davis-Miller, Micheal Miller, and his sister, Shirley Copeland, of Darlington, MD. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Davis, as well as eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial with full military honors being presented by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
