Emily Kristen (Caldwell) Redding, 45, of Chambersburg, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 22, 2022, at WellSpan York Hospital after a brief illness.
Emily was born on September 28, 1977, the daughter of Stephen and Joy (Bowers) Caldwell of Chambersburg.
She graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1996 and received a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from Penn State University. She earned a master’s in education from Bloomsburg University.
As a speech language pathologist, Emily improved the lives of hundreds of students during a 22-year career working at several school districts including Chambersburg, Waynesboro, Upper Adams and Washington County, Maryland.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.
Emily avidly supported her daughters in all of their pursuits, including competitive cheer. She loved all animals, but especially her treasured cats Coconut and Stormy, and golden retriever Finley. She enjoyed reading Emily Griffin novels and family vacations at the Outer Banks, North Carolina.
She will be forever remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and loving spirit. As she gave in life, Emily also gave in death as an organ donor through the Gift of Life Donor Program.
In addition to her parents, Emily is survived by her husband Ronald J. Redding; daughters Brooklyn and Bristol Redding; brother Craig Caldwell of Chambersburg; and nieces and nephews Marissa, Colby, Alaina, Evelyn, Anderson and Liam.
A Celebration of Life will be held 6-9 p.m. Nov. 12 at The Orchards Restaurant, 1580 Orchard Road, Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honor Emily may make a contribution to her daughters through www.gofundme.com/f/emily-redding .
