Obituary for Ernest W. Walker, Jr.
Ernest W. Walker, Jr., 83 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg.
Born February 09, 1936 in Dunham, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ernest W. & Winifred (Bolling) Walker, Sr. Ernest was predeceased by his wife, Polly (Deatrick) Walker, who died in 2013.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving from 1960-1961. Ernest was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, Good Samaritan Lodge #336 F. & A. M. Carpenters Union Local #287 in Harrisburg and he loved to go fishing.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Stouch and husband Ryan of Gettysburg, two step-daughters; Deborah Burnett and Dawn Tanger both of North Carolina, two grandsons; Jordan and Jesse Stouch, two step-grandchildren; Trae Lower and Stacee Piper, and two brothers; Robert W. Walker of Butler, PA and Ronald D. Walker of Lewisberry, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Rev. Michael Allwein, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 P.M. The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite #100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
