Obituary for Ethel Mae Himmelreich
Ethel Mae Himmelreich, 83, 1211 White Church Road, Gettysburg, PA died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at her home.
She was born July 13, 1932 in Norristown, PA the daughter of the late John D. and Ethel Mae Light Smith. Her husband William P. “Bill” Himmelreich died in 2013.
Mae was a member of Redeemer’s United Church of Christ in Littlestown, PA. She was a 1950 graduate of Upper Merion High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a former member of the Barlow Fire Company Auxiliary, a Den Mother for the Two Taverns Boy Scout Troup and an avid Bingo Player.
Mae is survived by three sons; Walter Himmelreich of Connecticut, Charles Himmelreich and his wife Joyce (Lawther) of Johnstown, PA, Mark Himmelreich and his wife Lisa of Littlestown, PA, four grandchildren; Jentessa “Tessa” Beasley of Gettysburg, PA, Katrina “Katie” Himmelreich of Missoula, MT, Alixandra “Alix” Himmelreich in Ghana, Africa, Samantha Carr of York, PA, a great granddaughter, Emma Longmire, two step-grandchildren; Martin Lawther of Washington, D.C. and Megan “Christine” Lawther of Chicago IL two brothers; Charles Smith of Virginia, Vernon Smith of Norristown, PA, two sisters; Laura Williamson of Virginia and Shirley Williams and her husband Charles of Berwick, PA, a sister-in-law, Margaret Smith of Vermont. She was predeceased by a brother, John Smith, and a sister, Stella Smith.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
