Obituary for Evelyn L. McGlaughlin

Evelyn L. McGlaughlin, 93, of Fairfield, PA died Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg.
Born January 29, 1924 in Adams County, PA she was the daughter of the late James and Nora (Shyrock) Bowling. She was the wife of the late Ira McGlaughlin who died in August 1988.
Mrs. McGlaughlin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fairfield, PA. She worked as a bank teller at First National Bank in Fairfield for a number of years.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Greg McGlaughlin, of Fairfield, PA, her grandson, Jameson McGlaughlin, of Middle River, MD, her sister, Janet Currens, of New Oxford, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Joseph Bowling, Francis Bowling, Bernard Bowling, Mary Millhimes, Regina Sanders, and Florence Metz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Rd., Fairfield, PA with Fr. Peter DiTomasso Celebrant. Burial will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the start of Mass Wednesday afternoon at the church. The Monahan Funeral Home, Fairfield is in charge of the funeral arrangements and online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
