Obituary for Florence "Selena" Chritzman
Florence “Selena” Fraver Chritzman, 96, passed on into eternal life on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 at the Village of Laurel Run.
Selena was born November 16th, 1921 in Waynesboro, PA, the daughter of the late J. (James) Harold Fraver and Clara Ruth Fortney Fraver. She grew up and lived in Chambersburg, her beloved home town, for several years before living in Gettysburg for most of her life. She was the widow of the late Alexis W. Chritzman who passed away in 1978.
Selena was a graduate of Chambersburg High School and attended Shippensburg University. She faithfully worked with her father at his Fraver's Shoe Store in Chambersburg for many years. After marrying and moving to Gettysburg, she helped with her husband's family business at Chritzman's Jewelers store on Chambersburg Street.
Selena actively participated with the Women's Auxiliaries of the Gettysburg Moose, Gettysburg Elks, American Legion and the VFW.
Selena was a woman of faith and an active member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Evergreen Cemetery, 799 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, PA officiated by Rev. Harry Winsheimer.
