Obituary for Frank R. Scott
Frank R. Scott, 93, Aspers, PA died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Gettysburg Center.
He was born October 27, 1923 in Gettysburg, PA the son of the late George and Laura Baker Scott. His wife Mary Riley Scott died in 1987.
Frank was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in York Springs, PA. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army in Germany. Early in his career he drove tractor trailers but later for 35 years was employed at Duffy Mott as a warehouse supervisor. He was a former member of the Gettysburg VFW, York Springs Lions Club and the York Springs Senior Citizens. Frank enjoyed baking and always had a treat for his family. For 20 years he was a driver for those in need, helping transport the elderly to doctor’s appointments and visiting the sick. But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Scott is survived by a son, Dennis Scott and his wife Donna (Clowney) of Gardners, PA, a daughter, Connie Moore and her husband Chris of Gettysburg, PA, seven grandchildren; Shaun Scott, Nicole Scott, Megan Porrata, Jessica Spotswood, Amber Emanuel, Shannon Moore, Bobbie Jo Brown, 3 great grandchildren, three sisters; Anna Stull of McClure, PA, Betty Chapman of Gettysburg, PA, Viola Little of Gettysburg, PA, and a brother, Bill Scott of Gettysburg, PA. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Scott, a granddaughter, Ashlee Marie Scott, two brothers; Harry Scott, Dick Scott and two sisters; Rose Rexroth, Mary Heiser.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 11:30 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, York Springs, PA with Rev. Ben Leese officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 216 Main Street, York Springs, PA 17372.
