Obituary for Frederick E. Garretson
Frederick E. Garretson, 84 of Gettysburg, PA formerly of Arendtsville, PA died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare Gettysburg Center.
Mr. Garretson was the son of the late Lloyd and Mary (Lady) Garretson. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Arendtsville, a 1949 graduate of Biglerville High School and worked as a fruit farmer with Garretson Orchards for many years. Fred later worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver before retiring. He was a self-taught musician and enjoyed singing. Memberships included the Shoshonean Gun Club in Aspers and the former Gettysburg Elks Lodge #1045.
Surviving are his three sons; Frederick M. “Rick” Garretson and wife Cindy of Gardners, PA, Nicholas L. “Nick” Garretson and wife Nina of Gettysburg and Dominic Garretson of Gettysburg, six grandchildren and his sister, Jean C. Garretson of York, PA.
