Obituary for Freeda J. Wisotzkey
Freeda J. Wisotzkey, 89, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA died Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Brethren Home at Cross Keys.
She was born August 23, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, PA the daughter of the late William and Florence Shaffer Porch. Her husband Joseph Wisotzkey, Sr. died in 1968.
Mrs. Wisotzkey was an active member of the Gettysburg Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. For many years Freeda was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Green Acres Nursing Home in Gettysburg.
Mrs. Wisotzkey is survived by a son, Joseph Wisotzkey, Jr. and his wife Diane of Gettysburg, PA, a daughter, Carol Wisotzkey of Orrtanna, PA, six grandchildren; Alison Wisotzkey, Michelle Flynn, Ashlee Stein, Amber H. , Jennifer Kump, Heather Shaw, 12 great grandchildren, two sisters; Doris Galko and Norma Jean Brodack and son Gerald’s significant other Lois Rinehart. Freeda was predeceased by a son, Gerald Wisotzkey and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 26th at 11:00 AM at Gettysburg Church of the Brethren, 1710 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg with Rev. Richard Godfrey and Rev. Pat Arendt officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 North Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
