
Obituary for George S. Lambert
George S. Lambert, 87, 2104 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the York Hospital.
He was born December 12, 1929 in Taneytown, MD the son of the late Lloyd and Nellie Mobley Lambert. He is survived by his wife Nancy Bushey Lambert.
George was a member of Mt. Joy Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant. For over 28 years, George was an agent for Prudential Insurance Company. He was a District Magistrate for 12 years. George also was an accountant and tax preparer for many businesses in the area for over 40 years. In his later years he assisted at Redding’s Auction Services. He was a founding member of the Adams County Fish and Game Association, member of the Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club, Gettysburg American Legion, Gettysburg VFW, Gettysburg Moose and the L&H Hunting Camp. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his Shih Tzu, Abby.
In addition to his wife George is survived by two sons; George S. Lambert, Jr. and his wife Geraldine of Whispering Pines, NC, Craig Lambert and his wife Lisa of Gettysburg, PA, two daughters; Bonnie K. Brown of Staunton, VA, Debra White and her companion Anthony Burner of Luray, VA, a step-son, Joseph Bushey, 6 grandchildren; Jessica Bennett, Allison Lambert, Joshua White, Bradley Brown, Conner Lambert, Cole Lambert, 2 step-grandchildren; Sebastian Walling, Lillian Bushey, 6 great grandchildren; Murphy Bennett, Cameron Bair, Grace Bennett, Carter White, Olivia Bennett, Mason Brown, and a brother, Kenneth R. Lambert of Gettysburg, PA. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Carroll Lambert and Ellsworth Lambert.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at Mt. Joy Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peter Naschke officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. There will be a viewing Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, PA from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt.
